Actions for the qualification and re-qualification for employment of the active population.

During 2023, the Tomillo Foundation is developing training actions in strategic sectors to improve the qualification and requalification of the active population, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

Strategic sectors in which we are developing training programs:

  • New advanced information technology (sectorially and transversally to all productive sectors).
  • Hospitality and tourism.
  • Activities based on energy transition and sustainability
  • Trade.
  • Automotive, logistics and transportation.

All training courses include an internship period to enhance the final objective of the training, job placement. It is an opportunity to adjust expectations, land the content, expand the contact network, develop CVs and increase recruitment possibilities.

We prepare students to be able to assume the functions of the position; to this end, the technical teacher will promote practical and applied learning through internships with external clients/participants. These internships are a quality experience to simulate future work situations in which both technical development and the competencies required for the position are evaluated; they give us a global vision of future performance, detecting different areas for improvement.

In relation to the companies, the competency profile, skills and attitudes are defined: teamwork, organization, adaptation and orientation to detail, mainly. Specific work will be done in the classroom for its development through case presentations, simulations, role plays and presentations to promote effective and quality communication.

The evaluation is continuous and is done in a transversal way and shared with the entire teaching team so that the impact is increased, which requires a great deal of internal communication and coordination.

At the same time, we have a tool called Emplea+, which allows us to evaluate the evolution of students’ competencies in an objective and quantitative way, establishing the competencies to be evaluated by professional profile.
