40 years accompanying young people to enhance their growth and employability

CVC Young Innovator Awards 2020 Winners Announced

On November 6, the CVC Young Innovator Awards were held in a virtual event. Among more than 30 projects of young entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years of age, 6 were the winners among which 60,000 € were distributed to support their initiatives, thanks to the collaboration of “Fundación CVC”, Fundación Youth Business Spain (YBS) and Fundación Tomillo.

The projects presented to the jury, made up of CVC management employees, this year fell into two categories: Scalable and Social Entrepreneurship. In this edition, initiatives on different topics such as technology, food, sustainable energy, coworking, among others, participated. These are the 6 selected projects:

A private company that provides services for companies throughout the agri-food chain, dedicated to the design and development of new products, process research and innovative technologies that can increase the production quality of customers, as well as improve competitiveness and food safety through technological and management solutions.

Innovative company developing a range of applications from digital imaging standardization to printed sensing technologies. These applications target such interesting sectors as digital health, food packaging industry, color quality control, retail, etc.

It was born in 2018 with the aim of combating climate change and reducing inequalities by driving projects for universal access to solar energy in rural areas that rely on fossil fuels.

Organization that offers 3D printed arms, trésdesis, to people who have suffered an upper joint amputation. The trésdesis are sent to any part of the world in order to improve day-to-day life, employability, schooling and in many cases, reduce the inequality faced by the people who receive them.

It was created in 2019 with the mission to eliminate food waste, while offering a quality product and proximity to all. “We offer boxes of imperfect but delicious fruit and vegetables, at prices lower than your usual greengrocer, and delivered to your doorstep.”

It is an initiative designed for all individuals or teams looking for new workspaces: more economical, practical and that promote a more flexible and productive lifestyle. They offer coworking space, offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, etc.

Once again, Tomillo Foundation appreciates the commitment of the “Fundación CVC” to support young entrepreneurship, whose support is a great boost to the creation and consolidation of new businesses and the generation of employment, in the midst of a complicated social and economic year, due to the pandemic we are experiencing.

We would also like to congratulate all the young entrepreneurs who participated with their projects and encourage those who were not selected to continue consolidating their business idea and promoting entrepreneurship as an alternative for self-employment and social change.
