Supporting School Success
is a project aimed at children and families with the objective of preventing early school dropout.

As part of this program, which is supported by La Caixa FoundationIn this area, comprehensive care for children is provided through educational reinforcement, psychological support, accompaniment to families and the promotion of healthy leisure activities with values through experiential experiences or the promotion of artistic activities, such as those developed in Performing Arts Space.

These leisure activities are a fundamental pillar within the methodological framework of Fundación Tomillo.

Bringing different realities closer to the daily lives of children, young people and families in vulnerable environments allows us to dream of other realities that can break the legacy of poverty.

With this objective in mind, last Easter vacations, the Support for School Success program organized an outing to Senda Mágica, in Arroyomolinos.

People from Tomillo Intervention and families from SAI Usera and Villaverde took advantage of the good weather to enjoy nature. “Along the way we have been able to see fairies, elves… surrounded by an atmosphere of nature that has transported us to the tales of childhood,” says Irene Delgado, coordinator of the SAI of Usera and Villaverde.

This activity is part of one of the main pillars of the day-to-day work of the School Success Support program: the family, the axis around which a large part of the children we work with orbit.

“It is essential that they are part of our program in some way and occupy healthy relationship spaces,” says Irene. “Mothers and children have shared time together through activities and games that facilitate improved bonding beyond the routine,” she adds.
