40 years accompanying young people to enhance their growth and employability

We dive into the ancient Roman city of Pompeii

What better way to start the school year than by enjoying a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii itself? In Tomillo Foundation we could not think of anything more exciting… So, a group of children and adults have been able to enjoy and immerse ourselves in the city that was an emerging symbol of the Roman Empire.

From SAI Latina-Los Olivos we have started the school year with a very interesting proposal of cultural and digital leisure, we visited the Immersive Exhibition ‘Last days of Pompeii’.

There, a group of children and another group of adults had the opportunity to walk through the Villa of the Mysteries, interact with its treasures, its paintings, feel the fury of Vesuvius and experience up close a fight between gladiators and wild beasts. Emotions to the surface… wonders of virtual reality!

These leisure activities are a fundamental pillar within the methodological framework of Fundación Tomillo. Bringing different realities closer to the daily lives of children, young people and families in vulnerable environments allows us to dream of other realities that can break the legacy of poverty.

This program, which is supported by La Caixa Foundation, provides comprehensive care for children through educational reinforcement, psychological support, accompaniment to families and the promotion of healthy leisure activities with values through experiential experiences.
