Did you know that at Tomillo, our support for children and teens doesn’t end when the school year is over?
In July, we closed our classrooms, but we didn’t stop. We’re swapping out our notebooks for swimsuits, caps, movie tickets, field trips, and a great desire to have fun. Once again this year, we’re launching the Tomillo Summer School, a program that builds on the work done during the school year and turns summer into a time to keep learning, spending time together, and growing.
This year, 250 children and teenagers are participating in the Tomillo Summer School at the centers in Usera, Villaverde, Latina, and Carabanchel, where the month of July is filled with activities, experiences, and moments that also serve as learning opportunities.
A Summer Full of Plans
At Summer School, there are days for taking a dip in the pool, laughing during a scavenger hunt, decorating caps creatively, paddling in a canoe, going to the movies, enjoying a game of bowling, discovering new places on field trips, and going on adventures at places like Parque Europa, Safari Madrid, or Aventura Amazonia, and enjoy family outings together.
There are also workshops, water activities, magic shows, cultural tours, service-learning projects, and the much-anticipated Tomillera Gala—one of those moments when we celebrate everything we’ve experienced over the past month.
Because every activity has something special to offer. A field trip can open the door to discovering a new place. A scavenger hunt can teach teamwork. A workshop can spark creativity. And a gala can become a memory that lasts long after summer is over.

Leisure that Also Educates
At Tomillo, we know that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. We also learn by playing, sharing, taking turns, helping a classmate, taking care of our materials, and daring to try something new.
That’s why there’s so much more to every plan than just fun. The Summer School helps foster independence, responsibility, cooperation, respect, and social skills. It also offers healthy, safe, and supervised recreational activities, which are especially important for those who don’t always have easy access to these kinds of experiences during their vacations.
The goal is clear: for every child and teenager to have fun, build confidence, feel like part of a group, and discover new ways to spend their free time.
The pace is more summery, but the spirit remains the same: to support, care for, and create opportunities.

This year, together with our families as well
As a new feature, this edition includes a Family School, designed to support mothers, fathers, and caregivers as well.
Through training sessions, group activities, and family outings, the program addresses topics such as communication at home, positive parenting, parenting guidelines, and conflict resolution. But there’s also room for something very important: enjoying time together, strengthening bonds, and spending quality time together.
Summers That Leave a Lasting Impression
In the end, that’s what the Tomillo Summer School is all about: a month to collect simple yet meaningful moments. A dip in the water with friends, a long-awaited field trip, a cap decorated with pride, a laugh in the middle of a scavenger hunt, or an activity that was embarrassing at first but later becomes a cherished memory.
Because even when the school year ends, we at Tomillo continue to be there for you.
What about you? Do you remember a summer that left a lasting impression on you?
