40 years accompanying young people to enhance their growth and employability

Sharing innovative routes for the insertion of young people in situations of social vulnerability

Orienta+ is a project of Tomillo Foundation funded by the Regional Council of Family, Youth and Social Policy of the Community of Madrid, as part of the grants aimed at developing pilot projects for social innovation, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (financed by the European Union) NextGenerationEU.

The call was resolved by resolution 3243/2023 of 29 June 2023, with a start date of 1 July 2023 and an end date of 31 December 2025 for the implementation of the project.

Orienta+ seeks to consolidate a comprehensive guidance model for young people in situations of social vulnerability, which is based on the development of essential socio-emotional skills and on the implementation of effective processes of support and guidance. This allows the definition of a personalised integral development itinerary.

The purpose of the intervention is the effective educational transition and socio-occupational insertion, based on the needs, active involvement, reflection and free decision of the young person.

During the 30 months of the project, the work will be organised through different work packages and phases that will allow us to address four key actions:

  • Modeling of the working system of the Tomillo Foundation based on guidance, improving the effectiveness and efficiency in the organisation and management of the accompaniment of young people. .
  • Experimentation of the guidance model based on itineraries in all its phases with 626 young participants.
  • External evaluation to measure the impact that participation in the project has had on the beneficiaries. .
  • Transferring of knowledge to other social agents interested in effectively implementing the intervention model. .

These four major actions will be complemented by two other key initiatives. Firstly, an important work of analysis of the economic sustainability of the project, with the aim of achieving the necessary funding to implement the model on a wider scale. On the other hand, a powerful communication action that will help us to attract agents interested in participating in the transfer, possible funders of the project in the future, and to disseminate the project and its results throughout the process.

Orienta+ is, therefore, a very challenging and far-reaching project, both for the sector of intervention with young people in situations of social vulnerability and for the Tomillo Foundation itself.
